Tesla’s Powerwall home energy storage system has officially launched in Ireland, with UK distributor Segen opening a dedicated depot in Dublin to support the rollout. The new site will serve as a central hub for Segen’s Irish operations, stocking Tesla Powerwall alongside energy storage products from Anker Solix, Fox ESS, Dyness, Sunsynk, and Solis, as well as a broad range of solar panels and related equipment. The company claims it will offer the largest selection of solar and energy storage products in Ireland.
Spencer Conday, Managing Director of Segen UK & Ireland, emphasised the rapid growth of the Irish solar and storage market, driven by government incentives such as the Solar PV Scheme, which provides grants of up to €1,800 for qualifying residential installations. He described the exclusive Tesla partnership as arriving at a “pivotal time,” noting that demand for energy storage is expanding quickly, particularly in rural areas where grid reliability and self-consumption are key priorities.
To engage the installer community, Segen will host a roadshow on October 23 and has launched an online portal to support Irish contractors. These initiatives aim to accelerate adoption of solar and energy storage solutions across the country while providing installers with technical guidance, product training, and access to inventory.
The launch of Tesla Powerwall, combined with Segen’s extensive product range and installer support, signals a significant step forward for Ireland’s clean energy transition, providing homeowners and businesses with the tools to store solar energy, reduce reliance on the grid, and enhance energy resilience.
