Big-ticket bidders are circling Irish utility Energia Group, with Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky’s EPH and Japan’s Itochu tipped to lodge early offers. Valued at over €2 billion, Energia’s integrated portfolio, including renewables, gas turbines and a new data centre greenlit in Dublin, is drawing serious interest. CPP Investments may link with Octopus Energy, while Ardian and Asterion are also in the mix.
The race reflects a broader investor push into resilient energy infrastructure as demand and data needs surge.
