Northern Ireland solar and electrical solutions provider Premier Electrical Group has completed the acquisition of Natural Generation, a Cornwall-based renewable energy company, according to the Belfast Telegraph. The deal creates a combined workforce of almost 50 staff and positions the Ballynahinch firm for significant expansion across the UK and Ireland.
The Belfast Telegraph reported that the acquisition, made for an undisclosed price, will see Premier target an annual turnover of £15 million (approximately €17.9 million) within two to three years, nearly doubling its current revenue.
Natural Generation, headquartered in Perranporth, helps homes and businesses in Cornwall, Devon, and the South West of England to harness renewable energy with solar panels and battery storage.
Thomas Walsh, co-founder and director of Premier Electrical Group, said: "Premier Electrical Group began with the belief that renewable energy should be built on trust, not just technology. We saw a gap in the market for honest, expert-led solar services that put people first. In Natural Generation we've found a company that shares our values and ethos and gives us huge potential to grow the business further across the UK and Ireland."
Brendan O'Connor, co-founder and director of Premier Electrical Group, said: "We're proud to say we were among the first to bring solar to Northern Ireland, and we're excited about the prospect of now leading the charge in England as well."
Premier Electrical Group specialises in the design, supply, and installation of solar PV systems, battery storage, EV chargers, and more across the domestic, commercial, and agricultural sectors. The acquisition broadens that offering into England's south-west market.
The deal arrives as demand for solar installations continues to grow across the UK and Ireland.
