Powerhouse Energy has inked a deal to become the exclusive hydrogen supplier for BSH’s pioneering fuel cell project in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. The agreement will see Powerhouse provide ultra-pure hydrogen at a cost below both green hydrogen and current UK CfD strike prices, strengthening the case for hydrogen as a commercially viable energy solution. Beyond this first-of-its-kind project, Powerhouse is set to support further CHP initiatives in Mid and East Antrim, aligning with the council’s net zero manufacturing ambitions. This move signals a strategic shift towards localised hydrogen ecosystems, positioning Powerhouse as a key player in bridging waste-to-energy technologies with the UK’s decarbonisation targets.
