Irish-founded smart energy company GridBeyond has officially opened its new global headquarters in Dublin, consolidating its international operations under a single hub as the company manages over 5 GW of energy assets across nine electricity markets on four continents. The new facility is designed to support operational scale, talent acquisition, and future growth as GridBeyond expands its AI-powered energy optimisation platform internationally.
Silicon Republic reported that the headquarters opening follows a €12 million equity round in March 2026, in which Samsung Ventures participated, with the funding earmarked to accelerate expansion across the UK, Ireland, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
Michael Phelan, chief executive officer of GridBeyond, said the new headquarters reflects the scale GridBeyond has reached as a global energy optimisation platform, and that managing over 5 GW of assets across multiple markets requires real-time intelligence, automation, and deep market expertise.
Peter Burke, TD, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, said GridBeyond is an excellent example of the ambition and capability of Irish companies operating at the forefront of the global energy transition, and that the opening of the new headquarters in Dublin reinforces Ireland's position as a hub for innovation in energy and technology. He added that supporting companies like GridBeyond to start, scale, and succeed internationally remains a key government priority.
Established in 2010 by Phelan and Padraig Curran, GridBeyond uses AI-powered technologies to optimise energy generation, distribution, and storage for industrial and commercial customers. The company employs more than 160 people across locations in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia.
