Fiona Britton has joined the judging panel for the Business Energy Achievement Awards 2026. A Lecturer in Sustainability at the Department of Environmental Science, Atlantic Technological University, Britton has been engaged in sustainability management and education at ATU's Sligo campus since 2019, with a particular focus on the circular economy, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement.
Her academic work extends beyond the lecture hall. Britton serves as co-lead of the ATU Green Campus programme, an environmental award initiative promoting sustainability best practice across the Irish university sector. She also participates as a lecturer in the annual European Summer University programme, Sustainable Futures, and recently presented research at the Groufes Conference on Sustainability in Education in Magdeburg through the EU GREEN Alliance — reflecting a commitment to advancing sustainability thinking at European level.
Prior to joining ATU, Britton worked as an environmental consultant, supporting organisations across environmental compliance, resource management, and sustainability reporting. That practitioner background gives her a grounded perspective on the operational realities facing the organisations competing at the awards.
Her appointment strengthens a judging panel well positioned to assess the depth, credibility, and strategic impact of entries across the Business Energy Achievement Awards' full range of categories.
Visit the official awards website to learn more about the judging panel, explore award categories, and submit your entry before the 5 June 2026 deadline.
