Bord Gáis Energy is set to become Ireland’s largest solar power offtaker after signing long-term agreements with major renewable developers. The deals add 629MW to its portfolio, pushing total capacity to nearly 1GW by 2028. The move supports Ireland’s 80% renewable target by 2030 and includes close to 1TWh of clean electricity annually—enough to power 250,000 homes. It forms part of the firm’s €1 billion investment in the green transition.
